Banana Republic Clothing

0 Comments 14 May 2009

Started in 1978, Banana Republic clothing was meant to be a clothing brand that was inspired by travel, traveling and travelers. In 1983, they were bought by The Gap, Inc. (You have to wonder sometimes what would happen if Abercrombie and Fitch clothing was bought out by Mango clothing – what would the fashion children look like?) Today, they’re a well known brand that’s becoming more and more popular. They still maintain that special something that makes small companies so popular, even though they’ve grown really large over the years.

Similar to companies like Hollister Clothing, the Banana Republic brand is known for their outrageous (fictional and fun) background stories for their clothes and the store itself. They also go all out in their retail locations, helping to add to the exotic and dangerous flavor of this fashion brand. If you’re ready for something different that will add a little mystery to your wardrobe, this brand of clothes and accessories is for you.

3 Reasons to Shop Banana Republic Clothing

If you know anything about this brand, you know why they should be part of your wardrobe. If you don’t (or you need reminding) here are some quick reasons.

  • Flavor – Call it banana flavor if you must, but this clothing brand brings their own spin to the world of fashion, which is a refreshing flavor after getting the same from a lot of other clothing companies. The flavor might not be to your liking, but it’s guaranteed to be a little different, which is good sometimes.
  • Brand – By wearing clothes and accessories from this brand, you’re wrapping yourself up in the marketing story – they tend to rub off on you. That is, when you’re seen wearing the clothes, people begin to associate all the good things about the advertising with you. (This can’t be said of Zara clothing, obviously.)
  • Exotic – This goes with the other two reasons, but maybe you’re starting to see the pattern here. This brand is all about being able to enhance your image and keep your body clothed at the same time. A lot of money is spent building the brand and image that surrounds the clothes you wear from them.

Where Can I Find Banana Republic Clothes?

A good thing about this brand is that it’s easy to find. While the back story and advertising might contain exotic, faraway locations, the clothes and accessories are available all over the United States (and the world.) If there’s not a store nearby or you don’t want to bother yourself to get up and go, you can also find the brand online, which is convenient.

Whether you order online or at a store, you’re going to get the same “experience” that goes along with purchasing the clothes. This really adds a lot of value to what you’re getting for your money. If you’re ready for something adventurous and a little different you may be ready for Banana Republic Clothing.
